Zanée Barnes

Performing Artist/Choreographer

Born in Newark, NJ, Zanee Barnes has always been interested in dance and other forms of movement art. Her infatuation with movement arts led her first form of formal training in ballet and modern at Middlesex County Vocational/Technical School, in East Brunswick,NJ, under artistic director Cleo Mack. It was here that she performed works by artists such as Graham Lustig, Blair Richie, and Kimani Fallon. Zanee took her training to the next level when she attended a dance intensive at Howard University, the summer before her senior year of high school. In the Fall of 2014 Zanee attended Delaware State University where she was a member of the university’s hiphop dance company, Hidden Vanity. Zanee is currently a dance major at Columbia College Chicago with a minor in Live & Performing Arts Management. She continues to expand her dance training at notable academies on the east coast as well as, in the MidWest in both concert and commercial performance forms.
