Jacob Buchholz

First and foremost, I am a creative. I am passionate about all things that start as a shapeless mass and are then transformed into something beautiful and fresh.

I hold a special place in my heart for typography. There's something about the satisfaction of well-set type and beautiful letterforms that just gets to me. I love exploring the vast and ever-changing world of type and seeing what new things are being done.

I am fascinated by more than just graphic design, though. I have played and composed music extensively, I love to shoot and edit videos, and I also enjoy creating motion graphics (particularly ones involving type).

I transferred from College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, where I got a phenomenal education in graphic design. The teachers there gave me a very practical view of the field, and I try to apply that to all my work. It was there that I discovered my love for typography and letterforms.
I am excited to further my knowledge and creativity here at Columbia, and I look forward to the chance to engage and collaborate with other creatives in the wonderful city of Chicago. * As I am extremely busy, I am not available for pro bono work, but if you would like to contact me, I can possibly refer you to some people who are.
