Marceia Scruggs

Choreographer Dancer Artist

Native of Chicago, Marceia holds great passion for creative art, performance, and gender  studies. During the summer of 2015, she had the pleasure of working with Deeply Rooted Dance Theater, training with and performing works by Kevin Iega Jeff and Gary Abbott among others. In addition, she has performed in Dardi McGinley-Gallivan's Faculty Concert, Joel Hall's Dances in the Hall, and Chicago's 2017 Summer Dance Celebration. Artistically, she has choreographed work and participated as an intern with Bahiyah Productions Inspire campaign for two consecutive summers.

In June 2016, she participated in the National College Dance Festival, performing at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.

 As a graduate of Columbia College Chicago's dance and Women and Gender studies departments, she is greatly moved by community building, and artists and creative works that inform the black women's truth.
