Find creative talent from Columbia College Chicago
My experiences at Columbia College Chicago include directing, editing and screenwriting; I also produced a short film during my time at Columbia, while also developing screenplays for the Practicum program in my Producing IV course. I also had to use strategic planning skills while working to achieve the directors’ artistic goals by using my effective verbal communications skills. Producing this film required me to hire the talent and the crew, provide catering, location scouting and securing locations, while also assisting in casting sessions. I also created an Electronic Press Kit for the film including a poster I designed, social media pages, and full-length biographies of the cast and crew and raised funds for the film on Indiegogo whilst creating a budget.
During my time at The Learning Studio at Columbia College Chicago, I gained Receptionist experience as a Student Aid; where I had to accomplish personal tasks while also handling clerical and administrative skills to many department chairs and faculty. I also made appointments and answered phones, which required confidentially and multi-tasking skills, while also guiding the students that would come in with any questions they had and gave them assistance with whatever they needed.
Even when I was an intern at the Producer’s Guild of America, I handled receptionist duties along with other clerical duties where I dealt with heavy phone calls and creating excel spreadsheets, which is where I also expanded my Excel and Microsoft Suite knowledge. I also completed extensive research on marketing and various television programs and films all while completing personal tasks as well for various staff. I was previously a Producer’s Assistant on a feature film entitled Animator.
I was recently a Set Dec Coordinator at 20th Century Fox and Sony Pictures where I kept track of QuickBooks and created Excel spreadsheets while implementing the budget from the Set Dec department, filing check requests and Purchase Orders, office administrative duties, office coordination, assisting the Set Decorator, and organized and kept track of the Set Dec budget.
