Magdalene Brenner

Theatrical Costume and Make-up Designer

My first costume design experience was for the plays and musicals in my High School theater department of Columbia, MD. I left high school with 12 shows on my resume, 9 of which I had costume designed myself. A few of the shows I designed included Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap, The Wiz, Godspell, Urinetown: The Musical, The Complete Works of Shakespeare Abridged, and Little Shop of Horrors. I also spent two summers as a Costume Intern with Columbia Center for the Theatrical Arts and Toby's Dinner Theater working on their productions of Les Miserables and Ragtime. I decided to continue my love of costuming to college where I am Majoring in Costume Design at Columbia College Chicago. Since my time in college I have also begun taking Make-up design classes and have continued designing, and practicing my make-up skills on small student films, photo shoots, and projects. I also work as a seamstress and do speciality projects, most commonly Halloween costumes. My costuming specialties lie in period and fantasy projects, though I am always looking for new and exciting challenges and experiences!
