Kelsey Bates

Hi, my name is Kelsey Amelia Bates. I'm a student at Columbia College in Chicago majoring in illustration, graduating with a BFA this May. I'm highly interested in becoming a concept artist for video games or films. Due to my varied and adaptable art style I feel that this is the right career for me. However, I also enjoy experimenting with different styles and love making illustrations for children's books, editorial pieces, and comics.

A little bit more about me: I'd prefer to read a book over watching TV or a movie, but I do have a few favourite shows and films that I never get tired of watching. I love cooking and eating, and I think it'd be really fun to go to culinary school--but I don't think I'd ever want to be a professional cook/chef! I love learning and have lately been interested in evolutionary biology. I wish I was multilingual but I don't think I'll ever have the time to become fluent in all of the languages that I want to learn (some of those include: French, German, Norwegian, and Japanese).

I also enjoy other artistic crafts such as graphic design, photography, embroidery, and sewing.
