John is available for internship and collaboration
I was born in Glendale, California and lived there for most of my life with my two brothers and mom. I mainly played sports and studied through high school, and graduated in 2004 and again through a five-year program in 2005 with a A.S. degree in Graphic Communication. Upon completion I worked as shipping and receiving co-manager, a helper for printing press operators, and as an organizer of paper storage for a printing company called The Castle Press.
One girlfriend and a year later, I chose to study Spanish abroad in Sevilla, Spain for four months. Shortly after arriving in Spain, I bought my first guitar (Daisy) at age 20 and started writing songs. From Spain I traveled around the rest of Western Europe, visiting around 11 other countries over a period of three months. In the seven months I was in Europe, I wrote well over 50 songs and learned a great deal about myself and my guitar.
When I came back to the States, I chose to pursue a B.S. in Graphic Communications, but part way through my first semester and new girlfriend things changed. I found on my lunch breaks, I would be playing guitar in my car and writing songs whenever I could. That is the point in my life that I chose to go after a B.A. in some sort of music concentration.
I traveled to various music schools before finally choosing Columbia College Chicago, where I am presently in my final year(s). I have become a much more well rounded musician for it and I hope to one day be able to perform and share my music with the rest of the world.
