Deana is available for freelance and employment
Graduated from Columbia College May 2012 with a BFA, Majoring in Fashion Design. As a designer my goal is to create unique and innovative garments. I enjoy making pieces that are dramatic, yet wearable. I consider myself to be extremely flexible and enjoy designing structural tailored pieces, as well as delicate to extravagant gowns. I am fascinated with every aspect of the fashion industry. I find inspiration most frequently by searching through beautiful images. I have always had a passion for couture, and recently started beading and embroidery. I enjoy the entire process from inspiration, designing, sketching, draping, patternmaking, and constructing. I am extremely dedicated to the garments I make and will pull out all of the stops to complete them. A garment is more than pieces of fabric; it is art that becomes a part of the wearer. I want to make women feel beautiful and show expression through their garments. I have been sketching bridal gowns since I was eight years old and would love to create the gown for the most important day of a woman's life. I have always felt an emotional attachment to clothing, and I would love to be the one to create that experience for another.
Courses I have taken to achieve skill in Design: Garment Construction-Advanced Garment Construction/Tailoring, Advanced Flat Patternmaking, Advanced Draping, Fashion Illustration I & II, Fashion Design Illustrator and Photoshop, Couture & Adv. finishing techniques, Into to fashion business, Merchandise Management, Textiles, Senior Thesis
