Clarissa Chevalier

Production Designer, Painter, and Stop Motion Animator

My name is Clarissa Chevalier, and I am a Chicago based production designer, painter, and illustrator. I am currently enrolled in the Columbia College Chicago film program and will graduate in May, 2018.

The arts have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have studied at a fine arts school in Bamberg, Germany, have taken piano lessons since the age of seven, and have been creating artwork since early childhood. Growing up, I dabbled in a large variety of art forms, such as sculpting, painting, drawing, and fashion. The moment I stumbled across production design, a light bulb went off in my head. I found a job that combined all of the different artistic mediums I have grown to love. There is something about the fast paced, highly creative, and artistically immersive world of production design that drew me in from the moment I discovered it.

I strive to create modern, simplistic, surrealist design, and draw strong influences from artists such as Piet Mondrian, Rene Magritte, and Bauhaus design.
